Next Steps
Two tracks,
one step
at a time
One track is about finding your people. The other is about following Jesus. Most people walk them at the same time — and nobody walks them fast.
Know · Grow · GoTrack A is how you come to know. Track B is how you grow and get sent. Nobody walks either one quickly, and you do not have to.
Finding your
people
Belonging comes first. You do not have to believe everything to be welcome here.
Come to SOJO
That's it. That's the first step. Sunday at 9 or 11am, park in the SOJO lot at Gibson Mill, walk in. You don't have to sign up, dress up, or know anybody.
Come back
The second Sunday is the one that matters. The first time you're taking it in; the second time you start recognizing faces. Nobody decides anything about a church on one visit.
Try five services
Five Sundays is our honest ask. Not to evaluate a stage — to meet the people. Church is more than a moment up front; it's a community you grow into, and that takes more than one morning.
Come to Discover SOJO
The last Sunday of every month, right after second service. A real meal, childcare for the little ones, some SOJO swag, and an honest conversation with our leaders about who we are, where we're going, and how we work together. Bring every question you've got. Sign up in the Church Center app.
Following
Jesus
The second track is not about fitting in. It is about becoming someone new.
Take Discover More
A three-week virtual class covering basic doctrine and discipleship — what we actually believe and what following Jesus actually looks like day to day. Three weeks, online, no prerequisites. Come with doubts; that's what it's for.
Decide to follow Jesus
If you haven't made that call yet, this is the step. Not cleaning yourself up first, not understanding everything first — just saying yes to Him. Grace isn't a reward for people who got it together. It's the reason anybody ever does.
Get baptized
Baptism is going public with a private decision. It doesn't save you; it announces that Jesus already did. If you've said yes to Him and haven't been baptized, this one is yours.
Join a group
Faith grows in circles, not rows. A group is where church stops being a service you attend and becomes people who actually know you — who notice when you're gone and show up when it's bad.
Start serving
You were gifted on purpose. Kids, youth, worship, production, hospitality, outreach, finance, group leading — there's a spot with your name on it, and the new building needs more hands than the old one did.
One more track
Nobody starts
at the top
Generosity has its own ladder, and you only ever have to take the next rung.
Not giving anything → giving something → giving regularly → giving a percentage → the full tithe → giving beyond it. Wherever you are on that list, the only step that matters is the next one.

Not sure which step is yours?
