At SOJO Church, we believe that every person has been uniquely gifted by God to make a difference. Jesus Himself said, “The greatest among you will be your servant” (Matthew 23:11), and through serving, we not only follow His example but also discover a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment in our lives.

Volunteering is more than just helping out—it’s about using your God-given talents to serve others, build His church, and make an eternal impact. There’s a place for everyone at SOJO, and we’re excited to help you find your fit!

Where Can You Serve at SOJO?

We have a variety of ministries where you can make a difference. Whether you’re passionate about working with kids, have a knack for technology, or love creating welcoming spaces, there’s a place for you!

Kids Ministry (SOJO Kids)

Help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can learn about Jesus. This ministry includes Sunday morning classes, check-in support, and event volunteers.

Note: Background checks are required to serve in SOJO Kids.

Youth Ministry (SOJO Youth):

Invest in the next generation by mentoring students and helping them grow in their faith. Opportunities include small group leaders, event chaperones, and creative team roles.

Worship & Production

If you’re musically gifted or love working behind the scenes, join our Worship & Production Team. Roles include vocalists, instrumentalists, sound engineers, camera operators, and tech support.

Hospitality Team
Help make SOJO a welcoming place by greeting guests, helping at the coffee bar, or assisting with parking. Your smile and friendly demeanor can make a big impact!
Outreach & Missions
Be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving in our local and global outreach efforts. From food drives to mission trips, this team focuses on meeting tangible needs while sharing the love of Christ.
Finance Team

Serve behind the scenes with our finance team to steward God’s resources wisely. Opportunities include helping with budgeting, giving records, and offering collection.

Small Group Leaders
Lead a small group to help others grow spiritually and build meaningful relationships. Training and support are provided to equip you for this vital role.

Current Opportunities

Meals on Wheels Volunteer Opportunity – Weekly Meal Delivery

We are looking for reliable volunteers to deliver meals every Tuesday with Meals on Wheels. This is a regular, ongoing commitment with variables at your own discretion (weekly, bi-weekly, once a month, etc…).

Volunteers must have their own dependable transportation and be available to arrive by 10:30 a.m. on their scheduled day(s) at 342 Penny Lane, Concord, NC 28025.

Meals on Wheels is a local non-profit that serves hot, nutritious meals to the elderly and those living with disabilities in Cabarrus County. Not only does the meal delivery provide a needed meal, but it also acts as a wellness check.

    HellFighters of Concord

    We’re partnering with HellFighters of Concord to provide meals for our local homeless community. Together, we serve every first Sunday and third Monday of each month, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

    Volunteer for Parent’s Night Out – The Polar Express Edition!

    All aboard for one of the most fun nights of the season!

    We’re hosting Parent’s Night Out on Saturday, December 6th from 5-8pm, giving parents a chance to finish Christmas shopping (or just relax!) while their kids enjoy a cozy Polar Express-themed evening at SOJO.

    We need volunteers to help make this night special! From greeting families and serving dinner to leading games, or crafts, there’s a spot for everyone to jump in. All volunteers must be able to pass a background check before serving with minors.

    Feel free to come in your Christmas PJs for an evening full of joy, laughter, and holiday fun-and you’ll get to be part of creating that experience!
