Wednesday night
Bible study
For most of my life I treated the first chapters of Genesis like a hallway — the part you walk through fast to get to where the real story happens. I was wrong about that.
Genesis 1–12 wasn’t handed to people with good coffee and a study Bible. It was handed to former slaves standing in a desert. And the first thing God gives them isn’t a rule. It’s a story — this is how the world began, this is who ordered it, and this is who you are in it. Because the world they came out of had a story too, and in that one, they were labor.
We’re walking through Genesis 1–12 slowly, over the coming months. Bring a Bible and bring your questions — especially the ones you’ve been told not to ask.

Started October 21. Jump in any Wednesday — we recap before we go on.

Two minutes
Meet SOJO
before you
walk in
Press play. It is the fastest way to find out whether this is your kind of church without giving up a Sunday to find out.
You will hear what we are about, see the people you would be sitting next to, and know what Sunday morning actually feels like before you ever park the car.
Where to go next
Four steps,
in order
1 · Come for the first time
Show up on a Sunday. That is the entire first step — no sign-up, no dressing up, no knowing anybody.

2 · Try 5
Five Sundays. Not to size up a stage — to meet the people. That is the part that actually changes anything.

We're
home
Same family. Same mission. A room twice the size — and on September 6 we filled it.

First Sunday at the Kettle Room · September 6, 2026.
First things first
We're glad
you're here
You don't have to dress up. You don't have to know anybody. You don't have to have your life figured out, your questions answered, or your past cleaned up.
SOJO started in Corey and Betsy Alley's living room in 2017 with a simple conviction: a church shouldn't exist for itself. If we closed our doors tomorrow, our city should miss us — not just the people who show up on Sunday.
Seven years of Sundays later, that is still the whole thing. We are a community with a cause — and the cause is people. Helping them know life, grow in peace, and go in purpose.

Try five
Give us five
Sundays
Not to size up a stage. To meet the people.
One visit tells you whether you like the music. Five tells you whether these are your people — and that's the part that actually changes anything. Church is more than a moment on a stage. It's a community you grow into.
Our hope isn't that SOJO becomes a place you attend. It's that it becomes a place that feels like home.
SOJO Swag

A shirt is a small thing. It’s also the only sermon most people in Concord will read on a Tuesday.
